Those who know this natural wonder intimately insist the road to discovery winds between its two oak groves. Spanning 100 acres, the area known formally as The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University, provides a home for thousands of native plants and serves as grounds for multidisciplinary research by Oklahoma’s Cooperative Extension and the Oklahoma State’s Division of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources. The two groups also collaborate with many local and regional communities at large. Their practices and projects include drought response, water quality assessments, and sustainable practices for energy efficiency as well as reptile and amphibian studies.
